How to Easily Shift From a Negative to a Positive State of Mind

Shift from a negative to a positive state of mindToday, I want to share a story with you about appreciation. Appreciating people, events, experiences or things appearing in my life has become really important to me over the last months.

For me, appreciating what I notice in any given moment, no matter how small it might be, has become key to my general well-being and happiness. But, let me share a recent story with you to explain what I mean.

This last Wednesday I woke up all excited to get to work. I expected a response that day from a company that I wanted to work with on a really cool project. It sounded all really promising and I was eager to get started and had reserved some time in between all my other projects. [Read more…]

How to Re-Program Your Subconscious Mind to Make This New Identity Real

How to reprogram your subconscious mind to make this new identity realDid you like last week’s how-to-guide to a new identity? How is the identity statement working for you? (Click here to read to “22 Seconds to a New Identity”.)

It has only been one week for most of you and some others might start just now, so don’t expect a rapid change. It’s unlikely to happen that quickly. But starting is the best way to get there.

Today, in this post, I would like to address the one big block on why you might not see any change soon, or maybe not at all. This is big.

What am I talking about? [Read more…]

22 Seconds to A New Identity (or How to Become The Real You)

How to Become The Real YouDo you sometimes have difficulties to go to work each day because you feel like Groundhog Day? Nothing changes? The same day happening over and over again?

How about some energy that will help you to start the new day with a blast? Energy that will help you to be happier and more positive? Energy that is available to you each and every single day of the week?

And in case you are wondering, don’t worry, I am not asking anyone to smoke funny stuff.

I will share with you a little ‘Ninja Hack’ which has been helping me for over a month now. It is helping me to “shift” to a new identity. I am somewhat blown away by the effect it has. It changes my mind, my thinking process little by little. As a result of it, I have more energy to start the day, I feel more confident and I accept myself as I am. [Read more…]

Being More Relaxed in Social Situations With This One Single Trick

ssdp_being more relaxed in social situationsDo you feel uneasy and uncomfortable when you meet strangers for the first time? Maybe at a business dinner? Or when you decided to join a Meetup event in town, but then get second thoughts before opening the door joining the others?

I have been there. I know what it’s like.

There were some social events where I wish I could be like Scotty from Star Trek, just beam myself elsewhere.

It would be so easy to just disappear and leave the table (or turn around at the door step). Yet, I would miss out on the fun part and I wouldn’t have the opportunity to meet all these interesting people. And make new connections. Learn new things!

Do you want to be more relaxed in social situations? So relaxed that you won’t even want to be like Scotty? [Read more…]

Why You Will Fail

SSDP failure boysLast week I shared with you on why I thought I failed on one of my recent projects. That article caught the interest of quite a few people, so it seemed to have hit a certain spot without my realizing.

For example, as a response to that post, I got an email from a cat, or rather from the “slave” of the cat, as it was written in the email. 🙂 Encouraging me to move forward, but also to take it slow, one step at a time – even if you don’t know whether you next step is your next small mistake or your next small win! That was a great help to move me out of the hole even further! [Read more…]

How can I stop being shy?

being shyThis is a question that lots of us ask ourselves in certain situations.

Let me start out by telling you that being shy is nothing bad! There is this weird perception out there that we need to be extroverted, outspoken and all that.

I don’t buy it.

Having said this, there are situations when I am absolutely shy, and then there are others, where I am totally outspoken. During my Networking Challenge, for instance, I host monthly meetup events here in Duesseldorf. I am hosting. So, no excuse to be shy. I need and want to be outspoken to people, relate with them and have good conversations. [Read more…]

Need A Push To Progress With Your Personal Development Plan?

push personal development planI have a friend who asks me regularly to give her a push to follow through with certain ideas and plans she has. Every time she says it, I have a smile on my face. Not that I like to push people, no. I smile because I realize that I am not the only one who needs a little push every once in a while – a push into the right direction.

Today, you’ll (re-)discover a great little technique to push yourself. A little subtle push to allow yourself to move forward with your personal development plan, no matter how busy you are (for a 101 of such a plan, click here).

Now, just to be clear, I am not talking about a physical push here, I mean a mental push which allows you to move towards and take action on whatever your plans are. [Read more…]
